Manuel Alvarado

Manuel Alvarado is a representation theorist. In A Level media studies he is the standard reference for racial-stereotype categories, usually studied alongside Hall and Gilroy. He is one of the theorists (with Hall, Van Zoonen, hooks and Gilroy) used to teach the concept of representation of class, age, gender and ethnicity.

He is not currently taught at BNDS. Like Paul Gilroy, he may be used later to deepen the ethnicity strand of Representation in the G12 year. Anything decided about this will be confirmed in class.
