Goal
This lesson covers people who left no writing. You have to argue from the wall itself: the wall is the evidence. A1 is announced on the first day of this lesson.

U1·L6— hands, animals and the dark: account for the choice of animal, wall, and depth. - Day 4 · Wed 9 Sept ·
U1·L7— why make a mark: one reason argued, evidenced from the wall. - Day 5 · Thu 10 Sept ·
U1·L8— read a cave wall the way Warburg read a panel, by proximity. Two paired images; the written panel reading is the deliverable. - Day 6 · Fri 11 Sept ·
U1·L9— seminar: what the first images wanted. Thirty minutes; LB1 posted from what happens inside it.
Assessment
- A1 — announced Fri 2026-09-04, due Fri 2026-09-18.
- LB1 — Fri 2026-09-11, posted from the seminar. Graded on whether you take a position and move it — that behavior is what is being watched.
- Deliverable: the one-page panel reading (day 5) — direct rehearsal for the A1 justification, the same move at greater length. This will be confirmed in class.
