S4 Unit 5: Supervised Test & Submission

A Level Art & Design · Semester 4 Plan · Unit 5 of 5 · ← Unit 4

What this unit does

This is the test, assembly and board stage, under AO4 Present. You realise your planned outcome inside a 15-hour supervised test under exam conditions: work is stored securely between sittings, with no access and no additions. You then photograph the final piece and assemble the submission package in the exact order the Cambridge specification requires, check it line by line under supervision, and hand it over for marking. C1, C2 and C3 all reach the board in the same window. The unit closes with A4 — the submission package, which is your internal grade layer; the final piece itself is marked externally by Cambridge.

Dates & span

Weeks S7/S8–S10: the 15-hour test plus 10 sessions. The test is scheduled for S8, Mon 2028-04-10 → Fri 04-14 (5 × 3h). An alternative timing around Qingming in S7 (4 × 3h45) would pull the whole tail forward one week; this will be confirmed in class. All S4 dates are projected and may shift when the school publishes its calendar for this period — see the semester plan.

Assessment

The final C2 piece itself is marked externally by Cambridge. Key content

  • Nothing is invented under supervision — the plan marked at A3 is both your safety and your mark.
  • Storage between sittings is secure and documented: no access, no additions, no exceptions.
  • The package matches the specification exactly, and marks and samples reach the board by the end-April deadline.
  • On the earlier timing, the whole unit pulls forward one week.
