Goal
A short, dense lesson around the Juniors Days. Monday sets a second artist against the first and plans the piece that carries you from study into development; Tuesday makes it; the gap finishes it. A2 reviews the whole of Unit 3, and the feedback day ends with one direction you can defend.
How it runs
- Mon 11-02 (shared day, two beats) — Artist 2: rapid analysis against Artist 1, where they disagree about the theme; the bridge plan: composition, media, and what it carries from each artist — signed off before you leave.
- Tue 11-03 — make the bridge piece: one sustained session, no restarts; gap brief: your finishing schedule, dated in the sketchbook.
- (Juniors Days gap, six days — the finishing window.)
- Mon 11-09 — A2 attainment. Portfolio review in session: everything from Unit 3 (twelve experiments, media selection, scale trial, artist pages, bridge piece) against the published AO2 and AO3 criteria. Nothing is added during review.
- Tue 11-10 — A2 returned, banded; you write the one-sentence direction and defend it in a two-minute stand-up; Unit 4 preview.
Assessment
You sit A2 (exploration and artist study milestone, AO2+AO3) on Mon 2026-11-09 — see the full register. Choose Artist 2 to argue with Artist 1: the comparison should name a tension, not a similarity.
