Goal

Everything you have recorded so far becomes pages an examiner could read, then is looked at together. The holiday splits this lesson: you build the pages before it, the review happens after it, and a self-check on return helps you see what AO1 actually asks.

How it runs

  • Mon 09-28 — shooting reference: light, angle, series; photography session from primary sources; annotate the selects for what each shows, not what it evokes.
  • Tue 09-29 — line up all studies, name the weakest; bring every study up to the same standard. Nothing half-finished rides along.
  • Wed 09-30 — sequencing demo (“the AO1 read”); build the recording pages; CS4 build check; holiday homework brief.
  • Thu 10-08 — re-entry after the break, holiday sketchbooks on tables; self-check: mark your own recording against the AO1 band descriptors, in writing, honestly; final fixes list only — nothing new starts.
  • Fri 10-09A1 attainment. Portfolio review in session: intention, Stage 1 pages, the sustained study and supports, against the published AO1 criteria. Nothing is added during review.
  • Sat 10-10 (make-up day) — A1 returned with banded feedback; convert feedback into three specific written actions, one-to-one rota; Unit 3 preview.

Because the week is split by National Day, a missed Wednesday costs a whole unit stage — attendance matters here.

Assessment

CS4 (recording pages build check) Wed 2026-09-30. A1 (recording milestone, marked against AO1) Fri 2026-10-09 — see the full register. Self-check target: your own banding lands within one band of the teacher’s.
