Goal

The semester closes with evidence. You sit the full two-hour Component 2 paper in the exam window. Scripts come back Tuesday with question-level AO breakdowns, and the Wednesday double turns that data into one page each: where the marks went, which AO is the gap, and what Semester 2 does about it.

How it runs

The exam — window Mon 01-11 → Mon 01-18

  • Full Component 2, two hours, exam venue, full conditions. The paper: June 2024/22 (Servant) — Section A on the unseen extract (30 min viewing/notes + 45 writing), Section B from the contexts menu (45). Your slot is set by the exam office.

Tue 01-19: the return

  • Self-assessment first (20 min) — scripts face-down, self-band each criterion from memory of what you wrote, then read the script with its question-level AO breakdowns. Compare your self-band to your mark.
  • Gaps in writing (20 min) — name your gaps in writing, in AO language, with the script as evidence: not “Section B went badly” but “AO1 contexts: my case-study facts were pre-2020.”

Wed 01-20 (double): the target sheets, and the close

  • The target sheet (40 min) — one page each, four rows: gap (in AO language) · evidence (script + semester data: A1 → A4 → EoT) · action (specific, S2-shaped) · review date (a named S2 week, falling before the first S2 attainment). Write it to be read in February.
  • LB7 (10 min) — posted: response to feedback, S2 goal set.
  • The close (30 min) — Semester 2 preview: C1 goes to Cambridge in the spring, the film-industry case study opens Section B properly, Paper 2 sits in June. The theory-card deck and the case-study document carry across the break as your two working artifacts. Grades and comments are due today.
