HomeworkReflection: write up your plan adjustment after Friday’s feedback

Goal

By the end of this week your composition is planned, solved small, and its palette and materials are settled — before A3 reviews the whole development. Friday turns feedback into plan adjustments while there is still time for them to matter.

How it runs

  • Mon 12-07 — the direction sentence and evaluation on the table; your final composition plan: full-size or scaled plan with structure, values and sequence of work marked; sign-off rota begins.
  • Tue 12-08 — thumbnails that solve, not decorate: test the plan small, push one genuine alternative and reject it on paper, and annotate the rejection.
  • Wed 12-09 — a palette argued from meaning: settle and swatch palette and materials, test them on the actual support, name them for what they carry; self-check against the AO3 descriptors, in writing.
  • Thu 12-10A3 attainment. Portfolio review in session: compositions 1 and 2, targeted tests, the written evaluation, and the final composition plan, against the published AO3 criteria. Nothing is added during review.
  • Fri 12-11 — A3 returned, banded; feedback to plan adjustment: amend the plan physically and initial your changes; preview of the build run’s shape and the studio booking.

Dates are provisional and may shift once the school publishes the calendar for this period. Foreign Culture Day may fall on Fri 12-11; if it does, the Friday feedback lesson moves but the Thursday assessment does not. This will be confirmed in class.

Assessment

A3 (development milestone, AO3) sits Thu 2026-12-10 — see the full register. The bar for the plan: complete enough that a capable stranger could begin the piece from it.
